We recording? Yes. Let’s see if I can get B cam up and running. Oh man. Okay. So this lighting isn’t the greatest, but uh I’m jumping through hoops to film at this point of the day, so we are going to film at this point of the day.

Hello. I’m Adrian. Welcome to Barrows & Wights. Okay, we are taking a break from the final few projects on the medieval project to get a Halloween costume done. uh, I fully intended to make this last year, however life happened and that went nowhere. So what I’m going to do is put together a- Jesus Christ, this cobweb. Everything is made of webs. I live in spider town. I am making a Halloween costume. I intended to make this costume last year, but life LIFED real  
hard, so that didn’t happen. I’m putting together what I’m going to call a casual cosplay cuz like most of the clothing items I own because it’s very much everyday- stop justifying things. Can you tell I don’t write scripts for these anymore? I just don’t. I’m just flying by the seat of my pants here.

I’m going to make a costume of Eddie from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. You know I’ve been on Costube too long when I’m like thinking of reasons why I’m doing this. I should be expounding things upon you. I should be narrating some great grand story. No. I’m making an Eddie costume for Rocky Horror Picture Show because Rocky Horror Picture Show is kind of a part of my queer blood, so that- I like to go see it. I’m always a little disappointed that I’m not in costume. That’s the dryer going off. That’s going to go off again soon. I am cramming this video in trying to get it out in time for Halloween because I have been the slowest of slowpokes. So, making an Eddie costume. Eddie, pictured here- relatively simple costume to make if you have spent any time pursuing alternative fashion. So what I’m making is the vest cuz I mean, black jeans, got them. What’s he wearing, a black shirt? Can get that easily enough. uh I’m hoping to make chains for the boots. I wear motorcycle boots in my day-to-day life because they are the most comfortable boots.

That is a loud car. If it sounds like I’m out of breath, it’s because I’m rushing and it’s hot.

Vest is the most integral clothing piece here that I do not just like wear on a regular basis. So last year I went on eBay, found a plastic leather jacket- “leather”- a plastic fake leather jacket for about 12 bucks plus shipping. It’s uh actually, I think it’s a women’s jacket. I’m not sure. The arms are super small on me, uh which is fine because I’m going to cut them off. So I’m going to chop these sleeves off. I’m going to put these scrap bits of cheetah leather on the collar- cheetah print leather. It’s not- I said that weird. It’s going to be a mess but we’re going to have fun. So I’m going to put these on the collar. I have a couple of these scraps so I can- that’s plenty. uh Also, got these on eBay as part of a scrap leather lot. I don’t know how much I paid. It was eBay so probably cheap. I have those uh pointy cone studs coming in the mail. Don’t have them yet. I will show them to you when I get them.

I also have pile of costume necklaces. uh I got these cheap at a Halloween store. It’s like four necklaces per set. They’re actually pretty decently weighted chains. I think I’m going to take these ones for the chain in the back or am I going to take these ones for the chain in the back? I have to look at the picture again. Maybe these ones for the chain in the back and these ones for the boot chains. uh He has chains on his motorcycle boots. uh That’s probably just going to be a quick either basically put these on like ankle bracelets or maybe attach this half length- like just take one of these, split it in half, attach each half to some elastic that I can just put over my boot. Something like that, but I will play with these.

The back of Ed’s jacket is painted. He has like a sun- can you even see this? I’m not even looking in my B camera. There we go. So he has like a sun here with- it’s a gold sun with like squiggly red rays and it says baby up top with like flames coming off of it in red. The chain goes here. There are some silver stars. He has a silver sheriff’s badge. I could not for the life of me find like one of those cheap plastic Sheriff badges. I looked. Also this is not going to be screen accurate. I’m just going to get as close as possible as cheap as possible and that’ll be that. I’ll figure out where I’ll put those spikes when I get them in and actually, you know, look at the images from the actual movie. That’s the plan.

I feel like I very suddenly run out of things to say. uh So you know what? Let’s cut the arms off this baby and we’ll use a piece of one of the sleeves to uh test- test out some paint to see what the best paint configuration will be.

So I’m not turning the microphone on for this little clip, but I’ve cut the sleeves off. You can tell this jacket is not meant to fit a person of my size but I don’t need to wear it closed at all. um I’m going to cut the armhole a little bit longer on the bottom than the actual armscye from the sleeve uh and I think I’m going to just cut the lining out of this because it’s sticking out in some places. So that’s the next hack and slash bit of this.

Okay, so that’s a little more comfortable. I do have to deal with these little bits on the inside of the jacket here, but uh overall pretty good fit. Of course I’ll be wearing a t-shirt instead of this shirt, but if it’s comfortable in this shirt, then it’ll comfortable in basically any of the shirts that I own. So here we go. Chop chopped. uh Yeah, part one done.
